Description
You must know Plougastel’s strawberry! This unique fruit is internationally renowned for its delicious aroma and sweet taste. Without forgetting to mention its fresh and juicy flesh, which makes it excellent.
But KARANTEZ VRO goes further by suggesting the strawberry of Plougastel… in its liquor version!
Resulting from a long maceration of fresh and rigorously selected fruits, this strawberry liquor will reveal all its powerful and natural aromas. The taste of the fruit offers a subtle length in mouth.
The supply of strawberries is exclusively carried out locally by the Distillerie Artisanale du Plessis. The demand for quality goes hand in hand with ethical commitment.
Your strawberry liquor will be best enjoyed at the end of your meal or in a fresh sparkling wine such as our famous Celticae, the only sparkling Breton wine!
The beautiful story of our producer
The Distillerie Artisanale du Plessis is one of the very last traditional distilleries in Brittany. Located in the nearby countryside of Quimper, it is the result of a long family history.
A descendant of a local distiller, Pierre Seznec founded his distillery in 1980. Very quickly, his know-how relying on the Cornwall terroir is recognized far beyond the West of Brittany. He will make the creation of liquors (made from local fruit) and Breton aperitifs his specialty.
Maugane and Hervé Seznec have now picked up the torch and the entire distillation process is still carried out on the family estate. A place steeped in history as it occupies the site of a fortified Breton castle dating from the 12th century. And, something unique in Brittany, the Distillerie Artisanale du Plessis also offers visitors the opportunity to discover its nearby Museum of the Alambic, which gathers rare pieces.
Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health, to consume in moderation.
