Description
Traditionally, the lambig (whose name derives from the Breton ul lambig, and which means alembic) was a farm brandy intended for the personal consumption of farmers and therefore forbidden to be sold.
A prohibition often discreetly braved in the countryside of Brittany. But rest assured: the Menhirs Distillery has been authorized to market its lambig since 1986!
This brandy is therefore obtained after distillation of cider. The apples come from the 40 hectares of orchards managed by the Menhirs Distillery. The result of a long selection process, this lambig is the result of a blend of “eaux-de-vie” aged patiently for many years in small oak barrels.
These barrels bring the richness of their tannins and the lambig will reveal its delicately spiced woody aromas.
You will appreciate to taste it mainly in digestive. Don’t hesitate to discover our Brittany pommeau, made from this local eau-de-vie.
The Brittany lambig “Hors d’Âge” that KARANTEZ VRO proposes to you is one of the best in France since it has received no less than 13 medals including 5 gold at the General Agricultural Competition organised within the framework of the Paris International Agricultural Show. This product also holds the AOR quality label (regulated designation of origin).
Located in Plomelin (Cornouaille), on the border of the Glazik and Bigouden countries, the Distillerie des Menhirs has distinguished itself since 1921 by using the best Breton products in the making of its alcohols. Black wheat, cider apples and now barley have helped to shape the identity of this small distillery, which is genuinely Breton.
