Description

What is the Brittany pommeau? This generous alcohol is obtained by mutage of fresh apple juice at the beginning of fermentation with lambig (link), a brandy made from cider. The apples come from the 40 hectares of orchards cultivated by the Menhirs Distillery.

Our amber-coloured and soft pommeau will offer you a perfect balance between sweetness, acidity and bitterness. Aged in oak barrels for 5 to 6 years, it develops delicious aromas of prunes.

You will particularly appreciate this pommeau served chilled (10 to 12°C) as an aperitif but also as an accompaniment to foie gras. It will also go just as well with cheese, apple dessert or digestive!

The Brittany pommeau from the Distillerie des Menhirs that KARANTEZ VRO proposes to you is one of the best in France since it has received no less than 16 medals including 7 gold at the General Agricultural Competition organised within the framework of the Paris International Agricultural Show. This Breton pommeau also holds the AOC quality label (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée).

Located in Plomelin (Cornouaille), on the border of the Glazik and Bigouden countries, the Distillerie des Menhirs has distinguished itself since 1921 by using the best Breton products in the making of its alcohols. Black wheat, cider apples and now barley have helped to shape the identity of this small distillery, which is genuinely Breton.

Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health, to consume in moderation.

  1. The taste of Brittany. Remembering our last holidays in “Cap Sizun”. The best.

  2. Il n’y a que les Bretons pour faire de pareils mélanges ! Maintenant on en raffole avec mon époux.
